Introduction
Approximately three years ago, RSR initiated the development of Flo, a digital solution designed to provide visibility into the use of healthcare equipment within a facility or care institution. Flo ensures that searching for a specific piece of equipment becomes a thing of the past and guarantees a more efficient use of available resources. Many care institutions are already experiencing the benefits of Flo for their organisations and healthcare professionals. To further enhance Flo's capabilities, Blyott, our partner in tracking technology, and RSR are intensifying their successful collaboration.
Blyott CEO: Gery Pollet
"As Blyott, our goal is to revolutionise asset management across various sectors, including healthcare," says Gery Pollet, founder and CEO of Blyott. "We have already made significant progress in the use of IoT (Internet of Things) and asset tracking in sectors like retail and logistics. With Flo, we see similar potential in the healthcare sector. This collaboration combines the best of both worlds: RSR's extensive experience and expertise in healthcare equipment and Blyott's advanced asset tracking technology (Real-Time Location System). Together with RSR, we are developing a proactive and responsive system that anticipates the needs of care institutions and end-users, creating a more seamless, efficient, and effective healthcare experience."
Business Unit Manager RSR: Michiel Hoendervangers
Michiel Hoendervangers, Business Unit Manager RSR Wlz, explains, “At RSR, we aim to be a full-service provider that supports care institutions comprehensively. We are proud of Flo as a digital complement to our personal services. By offering objective advice on efficient utilisation and choices regarding purchasing or renting, institutions save costs and always have the best equipment for both healthcare workers and residents. This allows healthcare professionals to focus on what truly matters: providing compassionate care.”
Blyott's asset tracking technology enables Flo to provide a real-time overview of the location and utilisation of healthcare equipment. "Based on this data, Flo can offer advice on more efficient use," continues Michiel. "If a patient lift is frequently idle while another location needs one, the idle lift can be relocated. We often hear about rental mattresses being moved from one room to another, despite owned mattresses being in storage. This results in unnecessary rental costs and burdens on staff. With Flo, these issues are prevented, leading to savings of 10-20% on the acquisition and maintenance of healthcare equipment. Moreover, knowing the exact location of each piece of equipment ensures that all items undergo the mandatory annual inspections."
Looking ahead, combining location and usage data with smart devices and resident profiles offers a complete, data-driven insight into equipment use. "We can provide insights into equipment use in relation to resident care needs and mobility," Michiel adds. "This way, we not only review historical equipment use but also help care institutions anticipate future equipment needs."
The way forward
By deepening our collaboration, Blyott and RSR can continue to advance in their areas of expertise. Blyott will keep innovating its product portfolio to enhance asset tracking technology, while RSR will further integrate location and usage data with other market data. Together, we ensure more efficient equipment management, optimally supporting residents and healthcare workers while saving costs
